As a Nursing student at Texas Woman’s University in Dallas and an Urban Fellow, I have been able to connect my passion for community service with my goal of becoming a compassionate and impactful healthcare professional.

The Urban Fellows Scholarship has given me more than financial support. It has provided mentorship, a sense of purpose, and the confidence to grow as a leader. Through this fellowship, I have learned that true service means leading with empathy, advocating for those whose voices are often unheard, and utilizing my education to create meaningful change in people’s lives.

Balancing academics, clinical learning, and community engagement has deepened my understanding of what it means to truly care, not only for patients but for the broader community. The Urban Fellows program has shaped my vision for the future to continue leading with compassion, advancing health equity, and helping shape a future where quality care is accessible to all.
