Over one-third of Shreveport citizens do not have regular access to healthy foods. To address this issue, we build community gardens in low-income and low food access neighborhoods and teach people who live there about growing their own food and eating healthy. This spring, ShreveCorps members will work together toward the common goal of improving the quality of life for families in food deserts, low-income neighborhoods where access to fresh foods is limited. ShreveCorps members will serve from January 4th to May 14th 2021, completing a minimum of 300 service hours in that time.
