About Us:
The Assistance Center of Collin County is a nonprofit that helps low- to moderate-income individuals and families with rent and utility assistance, resource referrals, and self-sufficiency programs. We provide real-world support in real-time to people in need.
Internship Overview:
We are seeking motivated, dependable interns to support our programs and daily operations. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in social work, public service, nonprofit management, or community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with client intake and case management support
Answer and route incoming calls in the call center
Help coordinate volunteer schedules and community outreach
Support data entry, filing, and administrative tasks
Attend team meetings and assist with planning events or trainings
Participate in service delivery and follow-up with clients
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
Strong communication and organizational skills
A desire to serve vulnerable populations with compassion
The ability to learn quickly and work independently
Basic computer and phone skills
Interest in nonprofit work, social services, or related fields
Eligibility:
Current college student (any major welcome; social work, human services, nonprofit management preferred)
Able to commit at least 8–12 hours per week
Internship may count toward academic credit depending on school policy
