Job Title: Social Skills Teacher (Part-Time)

Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday | 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM

We are a nonprofit organization committed to enriching the lives of adults with Down syndrome by providing a supportive learning environment where they can grow, connect, and thrive. We are currently seeking a Social Skills Teacher who is excited to create an inclusive, engaging, and fun learning environment for our students.
What You’ll Do:
- Teach social skills to adults with Down syndrome, focusing on real-world scenarios and relationship-building.
- Use creative teaching methods to help students improve communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to practice and grow.
- Work with students on developing skills such as active listening, understanding non-verbal cues, and navigating group dynamics.
- Collaborate with a compassionate, supportive team to ensure students’ individual needs are met.
- Tailor your teaching approach to each student’s unique learning style, with the flexibility to adjust the curriculum as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Enthusiasm for teaching social skills and building strong, meaningful relationships.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine interest in supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
- Experience or interest in working with individuals with Down syndrome or other developmental disabilities (preferred but not required).
- Ideal candidates may be studying social work, special education, or psychology, but we welcome applicants from all backgrounds who are a great fit for this role!
- High energy and creativity, with a commitment to making social learning fun and engaging.
