THE POSITION:

We’re looking for adults in their early career stage who have completed an accredited post-secondary degree, value global ministry, and are collaborative.

The Accounting Fellow will be a vital part of the Finance/Accounting team, participating in the daily operations and large projects of the department. He or she will become familiar with not-for-profit accounting, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system conversion, and accounting procedures and best practices.

Fellows receive the following compensation and benefits:

• $10 an hour

THE LOCATION:

JAARS Fellows will need to live on campus in Waxhaw, NC. The area is a 40 minute drive from Charlotte, NC, and is known as one of the best places to live in North Carolina. With its mild winters, small town main street, and proximity to both urban centers and outdoor recreation, Waxhaw is the place to be.

WHAT SUCCESS AS A FELLOW LOOKS LIKE:

By the end of the eleven-month fellowship, the Accounting Fellow will have:

• Collaborated as part of the ERP implementation team with migration to a new financial system. This included performing system testing and writing procedures and documentation for the new system.
• Performed and completed a special project from the CFO.
• Worked on a multigenerational team and developed necessary skills to be both an active listener and contributor on a diverse team.
• Learned applicable life skills.
• Received guidance on next steps and know which step to take toward their professional goals.
