Therapeutic Mentor: Peer Provider, Community Service Specialist, or Qualified Mental Health Professional; based on experience and educationJob Summary: Responsible for providing direct skills mentoring, behavioral interventions, and crisis intervention services. This position also addresses clients’ symptom-related challenges that may interfere with the individuals functioning and living, work, and learning environment. Therapeutic Mentors provide opportunities for the client to acquire and strengthen skills needed to function as appropriately and independently as possible. All our team members are trained to be trauma-informed and utilize evidence-based interventions such as CBT, Solution-focused therapy, and DBT. Typically reports to the Leadership Team Nirvana Behavioral Solutions, LLC is a rapidly growing organization, based in the greater Houston area. Our program is entirely community/home-based which requires our team members to visit clients and conduct sessions in the clients residence or in a community setting (schools, homes, libraries, etc.) We serve over 100 clients, 95% are children and adolescents, many of whom are referred directly from foster care agencies throughout Houston. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide direct services to individuals with mental health diagnoses such as ADHD, Attachment Disorders, ODD, etc. Conduct client session for skill training and development related to the clients needs and goalsExamples of skills training and development include: symptom management, social skills, personal hygiene, nutrition, food preparation, exercise, money management, and community engagement. Uses appropriate criteria sets for implementing treatment plans and submitting client progress reportsTakes appropriate follow-up action when client needs/goals are not metWorks on appropriate, timely and compliant documentation of clinical criteria Review and monitor client progression through communication and documentation at each level of care. Seeks consultation from appropriate disciplines/departments as required to expedite care Utilizes conflict resolution skills as necessary to ensure timely resolution of issues Collaborates with team to eliminate barriers to efficient delivery of services Attend monthly Family Team Meetings with your team and clients to review progress and update monthly goals Attend monthly Accountability Meetings with your team and Intake Coordinator to review progress and update treatment plans Attend ongoing trainings to stay up to date on newest state mandated and company wide policies and procedures Other duties as assigned Requirements: At least 18 years of age Valid Driver’s License and car insurance Reliable transportation Personal laptop Have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency certificate issued in accordance with the law of the issuing stateNo criminal history and a full background check Demonstrate competency in writing case reports and documentation Ability to work within a multidisciplinary treatment team Present excellent engagement, time management, and organizational skills Work under the direct clinical supervision of Leadership Team Education | Skills High School Diploma or equivalent certification – required Bachelors from an accredited college or university with a minimum number of hours that is equivalent to a major (as determined by the local Mental Health authority) in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention. – desired LPC-Interns & LMSW encouraged to apply Spanish-Speakers desired Pay Rate: Based on experience and education
