JOB DESCRIPTION

Pediatric Potential is currently seeking a Grant Writing Fellow, who is keen to use their background in writing and interest in non-profit organization management to aid our efforts in securing grants to support our mission. This fellowship will provide the opportunity to work closely with our team to create innovative fundraising solutions.

The fellowship candidate will support our Executive Director and Board Chair and will be given the opportunity to utilize their studies and past work experience in a practical manner by assisting with the identification of appropriate grantors, the creation of a prospect database and the execution and timely submission of grant requests, Letters of Inquiry (LOI’s) and proposals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Researching prospective grant potential from foundations and organizations which align with our organization’s mission, initiatives, and programs
  • Writing Letters of Inquiry (LOIs), Proposals, and Grant Reports in collaboration with the Pediatric Potential team
  • Building a prospect database
  • Working with our Executive Director to gather data, information, and supporting documentation required to prepare and submit grant proposals
  • Developing and writing funding proposals and impact reports
  • Electronically tracking and managing all proposal/reporting deadlines, submissions, and status updates
  • Compiling an outreach list of conferences, speaking opportunities, publications, and other opportunities to increase exposure and raise funds
  • Strategizing new ideas and opportunities for success

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Interest in a career of non-profit business development
  • Strong research, writing and professional relations skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Have knowledge of proposal development and the grant writing process
  • Self-starter; creative problem-solver; resourceful; ability to multi-task; collaborate with an international team
  • Ability to work remotely and connect weekly via web conferencing, file sharing and messaging platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Candidates with previous experience in nonprofit work, interest in nonprofit management,/ international development, fundraising, grant writing coursework or experience and/or interest in our mission are strongly encouraged to apply.

COMPENSATION

This is an unpaid position. However, the position offers an excellent opportunity to work on substantive projects and can result in a valuable reference for future endeavors.

COMMITTMENT

  • 10-15 hours/week for a minimum of 6 months with preference given to those able to stay 9-12 months
  • Flexible start/end date(s)

LOCATION

Remote with flexible hours.
