Summer and Fall Medical Leadership Intern. Dates are flexible.
Project C.U.R.E. collects donated medical supplies and distributes them to hospitals in the developing world. We work with thousands of volunteers in our busy Houston warehouse.
We are looking for a part time Medical Leadership Intern.
Intern Program Overview:
Project C.U.R.E.’s Internship Program provides undergraduate and post grad students the opportunity to learn about global healthcare and the non-profit sector while gaining hands-on experience at our
Houston Distribution Center. Interns develop both professionally and personally as they contribute to
Project C.U.R.E.’s mission: to identify, solicit, collect, sort and deliver medical supplies and services
according to the imperative needs of the world. Project C.U.R.E.’s Internship Program is a professional
opportunity requiring a high level of commitment from program participants. Interns will report directly to and work under the close supervision of the Director of Operations.
Project C.U.R.E. needs talented students to learn our sorting systems and supervise volunteers. Would you like to work alongside and train with our physicians, nurses, biomedical engineers other and professional team leaders? This is a great way to gain exposure to various medical supplies and equipment while honing your communication and leadership skills. In addition to leading our general volunteers, interns are encouraged to explore and lead specific projects based on their interests.
We welcome applications from medical students, nursing students, and pre health majors.
We accept applications year-round.
Minimum Time Commitment: 120 hours per semester (160 hours for summer interns).
Scheduling is flexible.
We are closely monitoring the Covid-19 crisis. We do not have remote internships available at this time. However, we will allow appropriate work to be done remotely. The safety of our volunteers, interns, and staff is our top priority. We are taking all possible precautions. During your volunteer time, we will be following CDC recommendations and all volunteers and staff are required to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a mask and gloves. If you have your own mask, please bring it to your volunteer session. Disposable masks will be provided if needed. Please wash your hands or use hand sanitizer throughout your volunteer session. Please do not come volunteer if you are feeling ill or have been in contact with someone feeling ill. Your support in maintaining a safe facility is tremendously appreciated!
