GENERAL SUMMARY
The Middle School Latin teacher will demonstrate experience and skill in Latin and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring young people and is committed to teaching within a student-centered learning environment. This educator is experienced in designing and implementing 21st-century curriculum and instruction, implements classical language learning standards, and prioritizes reading comprehension.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Latin or related field
• 2+ years as a Latin instructor preferred; Classroom instruction

- Teach 5-8 School Latin courses in alignment with SPSCC assigned Latin curriculum
- Design lesson plans that are engaging, student-centered, differentiated, meet the learning needs of all students, etc.
- Attend grade level and department meetings
- Assess and assist students’ progress throughout the year. Participate in and contribute to the life of the school beyond the classroom.
- Engage in professional activities and gatherings at team, departmental, divisional, and schoolwide levels.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Experience teaching with a communication approach
- Ability and experience teaching multiple levels, preferred
