Job Summary: The Enrichment Teacher leads the afternoon enrichment classes by implementing an engaging, project-based curriculum with daily activities which will help prepare our scholars for their future and maintain positive social emotional health.
Essential Job Tasks:
• Design and implement appropriate enrichment classes for scholars including developing clear
learning objectives and curriculum plans
• Prepare classroom for daily activities; work collaboratively with Teachers to ensure activities are
linked to academic objectives and with Teacher’s Assistants to plan and implement daily lessons
• Provide behavior management and implement behavioral interventions with support from
Teacher’s Assistants
• Evaluate scholars and create portfolios with support from Teacher’s Assistants
• Ensure enrichment goals are achieved for each scholar
• Create and direct class project for closing ceremony
• Conduct administrative tasks such as attendance, photocopying, and maintaining classroom
supplies
• Mentor and support the professional development of the Teacher’s Assistants
• Attend staff meetings and provide program and scholar evaluations
• Collect and submit data for program evaluation
• Supervise scholars as determined by management during guest speakers, field trips, lunch, and
recess
• Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Experience and Skills:
• 2 years’ experience developing enrichment content and lesson plans
• Experience in urban education required
• Intermediate Computer and internet skills are required
Minimum Education, Licensure and or Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree
• State Paraprofessional or substitute teacher license preferred
