Position Overview:
The T.D. Jakes Foundation is seeking motivated and passionate interns to join us this summer. Interns will gain hands-on experience across various departments within the organization, contributing to ongoing initiatives and projects that positively impact our mission. Interns will receive mentorship, career guidance, and the opportunity to develop essential skills to further their professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Interns will support teams in the following areas:
• T.O.R.I. (Texas Offenders Reentry Program):
- Assist in providing support for individuals returning from incarceration, helping them achieve stability and successfully reintegrate into society.
- Support in outreach, case management, and resource coordination for program participants.
• Development Department:
- Contribute to fundraising efforts and support donor relationship management.
- Assist with research and outreach to potential donors and partners.
- Help organize fundraising events and initiatives.
• President’s Office:
- Work closely with senior leadership to gain insight into organizational strategy, decision-making, and day-to-day operations.
- Participate in meetings and support the President’s Office in ongoing organizational initiatives.
• Communications & Marketing Department:
- Assist with proofreading and editing existing content to ensure high-quality communication.
- Assist with drafting content for the foundation’s internal newsletters and social media posts.
- Help with organizing promotional events. They may assist with logistics, outreach, and communications.
Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate student entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of college.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Interest in nonprofit work, social justice, or community service.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
