Job Description: Social Media Intern

Position Overview: The Social Media Intern will support the social media team in managing the company’s social media platforms, helping to create engaging content, and assisting with campaign execution. This role offers hands-on experience in sports media, content creation, and digital marketing within the sports industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Curation:

  • Assist in creating graphics, videos, and posts for various social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).
  • Help develop and curate engaging content related to sports, trending topics, and company campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to produce visually appealing and engaging multimedia content.

Social Media Management:

  • Assist in the creation of social media posts, mainly videos.
  • Monitor and respond to audience engagement (comments, DMs, mentions) in a timely and professional manner.
  • Track social media performance through analytics tools and report insights to the team.

Campaign Support:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of social media campaigns and promotions, including giveaways and collaborations.
  • Track campaign progress and assist in gathering performance data for post-campaign analysis.

Trend Research:

  • Stay updated on sports-related news, trends, and viral content to ensure the company’s social media presence remains relevant and up to date.
  • Identify and recommend new social media trends and strategies for growth.

Collaborative Tasks:

  • Work closely with the Founder/CEO, social media and video team to align social media efforts with overall company goals and brand messaging.
  • Assist with organizing live events, interviews, and sports coverage on social platforms.

General Administrative Support:

  • Assist with general administrative tasks related to social media management, including maintaining content calendars and tracking content approvals.
  • Help compile regular reports on social media performance and audience engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Strong passion for sports and sports media.
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and trends, with a focus on sports content.
  • Familiarity with content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) including thumbnail creation is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • A current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Sports Media, or a related field is preferred.

  • Internship length: TBD
  • Flexible working hours (including possible evenings and weekends).
