Duties
Summary
If selected, you will perform calibration cotton value setting operations, maintain computerized inventory records of warehoused
cotton bales, perform High Volume Instrument and International Calibration Cotton Standards (ICCS) Check Test analyses,
screen cottons for potential grade standards and other specialized testing involving specialized instruments, provide technical
support on special fiber measurement studies, and other assignments related to cotton classification programs.
Responsibilities
• The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited
scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
• The duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Performs testing using specialized instruments and/or equipment to determine cotton fiber qualities.
• Prepares written reports to communicate information such as routine workload and status reports, and updates or findings on
special projects.
• Prepares and presents oral and visual presentations to relay information to Division and Program personnel.
• Performs testing using specialized instruments and/or equipment to determine cotton fiber qualities.
• Performs master trashmeter measurements on HVI trash calibration tiles and cotton-under-glass standards.
Travel Required
Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel for this position.
Salary
$43,683 to $56,790 per year
