Student Success Story: Kerrigan Hightower

Going into my summer internship while in a global pandemic was certainly daunting. At the end of the spring semester, I had been admitted into my graduate program at TWU. While I should be ecstatic, the thought of tuition and fees that would come with the internship weighed heavily on my mind. I felt that after the summer, I would be even less prepared for the fall semester financially and I lacked confidence in my ability to be a graduate student. The Urban Fellows Program restored my self-confidence in being able to effectively contribute as an intern at my internship site. This Program allowed me to be more prepared for my first semester as a graduate student as well and to not doubt my abilities. I am so grateful for the Urban Fellows Program that has helped me with continuing my education.  -Kerrigan Hightower
