Student Success Story: Imma Lugtu

My experience with Lone Star Parity Project was fascinating because I learned how women in our communities aspire to make positive changes and impact in our communities. From my experience with speaking with women of different backgrounds, anyone can see how their passions transcend into their roles as advocates and leaders in our society. At the same time, I was able to take part in delivering the mission of the Lone Star Parity Project – to share stories of women and femmes in Texas politics. I learned a lot from my internship, and I am proud to have been a part of the Urban Fellows Program because it further enhanced my personal and professional skills by increasing my communication and leadership skills. The program and internship helped me to engage in my community more.- Imma Lugtu
