Northstar School is small, college-prep, private school in Arlington with a student-centered approach to education. We exist to provide a unique educational experience focused on equipping students with a superior skill set and collection of real-world experiences, resulting in young adults capable of successfully leading in a global marketplace where the velocity of change is ever increasing. Northstar´s student population is currently just under 40 students who are all enrolled in a challenging curriculum that blends core classes with the fine arts.
Northstar employs more than a two dozen full and part-time faculty, many with post graduate degrees in their fields, who teach courses in their area of expertise. Classes are rigorous and discussion/project based, fostering close relationships between students and faculty, which are a vital part of the education and growth of our students.
Candidates wishing to join the faculty at Northstar School should:
- Have suitable academic credentials (or be working towards them) and model life-long learning.
- Be an outstanding classroom teacher or have the potential to become one, and be able to keep students engaged and challenged.
- Have a strong interest in and enthusiasm for the subject.
- Possess creativity, strong organizational abilities and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Work closely in a team with other department members to ensure an excellent educational experience for all students.
Candidates would be responsible for crafting and delivering engaging lessons, giving quizzes, tests, and other assignments, keeping up their grade book, communicating with students and parents about assignments, attending staff and departmental meetings, and attending to any other reasonable responsibilities normally associated with teaching.
