Job Description: Detail-oriented and data-curious intern to support our business team through web, content, and behavioral analytics. This role is ideal for a student who thrives on uncovering actionable insights and is excited by how data shapes decisions in digital marketing and user experience. You’ll help us and our listed businesses better understand what’s working and where to focus energy to improve website performance, user engagement, and business growth. This internship will offer hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Hotjar, Google Search Console, and Looker Studio. Interest or basic knowledge in AI tools or predictive analytics is a strong plus. Cover letter, resume, unofficial transcript, and full mailing address required for a complete application.

This is an unpaid internship. Fashion Index is fully aware of and in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and all Department of Labor regulations. Only current students at the time of the internship are eligible for this internship.

Responsibilities: Monitor and report on key performance metrics (traffic, bounce rate, time on page, conversions) using GA4 and Google Search Console • Identify the top-performing pages and user paths to inform marketing and SEO strategy • Analyze user behavior via Hotjar (heatmaps, scrollmaps, session recordings) to pinpoint engagement issues or UX opportunities • Create simple dashboards or performance snapshots in Looker Studio to visualize trends over time • Track marketing campaign results and website traffic referrals to assess what’s driving high-value visits • Participate in tagging recommendations and event tracking updates via Google Tag Manager (under supervision) • Support internal research to benchmark how digital analytics is being integrated with AI tools in marketing optimization • Assist in summarizing findings for internal team use and cross-functional alignment • Other duties as assigned, including helping the team prepare slides or memos to communicate impact

Check with your school’s Internship Coordinator BEFORE accepting the hiring offer to determine if this position satisfies the criteria for receiving academic credit. To be eligible for this internship position, you must be enrolled in, planning to enroll, or accepted for enrollment in an academic internship course or experience recognition program through your college or university that will run concurrently with this internship opportunity.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in one of the following areas: Marketing (with a Digital or Analytics concentration) • Business Analytics • Data Science / Statistics • Information Systems / Management Information Systems (MIS) • UX Research / Human-Computer Interaction • Communications or Media Studies (with digital or web focus)
  • Foundational coursework or knowledge in data analysis, digital marketing metrics, or web user behavior
  • Interest in how AI is shaping the future of analytics, marketing, or personalization

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with: Google Analytics 4 (GA4) • Google Search Console • Google Tag Manager (basic knowledge acceptable) • Hotjar or similar behavior analytics tools • Excel or Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables) • Looker Studio for simple dashboards
  • Proactive communicator with the ability to translate findings into clear ideas
  • Curiosity about marketing funnels, user journeys, and digital conversion paths
  • Pay: Unpaid, for College/Academic Credit. This requires a concurrent internship class
  • Job Duration: About 15 weeks
  • Schedule: Minimum of four days/week, including a required team meeting. At least 15 hours/week (225 hours total), per your school and Fashion Index minimum internship requirements
  • Work Location: 100% remote
  • Education: Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a relevant major and take a concurrent internship course
  • Application: Cover letter, Resume, Unofficial Transcript, phone number, and full mailing address required for a complete application

Skills: Self-starter with strong curiosity about what drives results • Comfortable exploring data with guidance and seeking help when needed • Excellent note-taker and detail-oriented • Familiar with—or willing to learn—web analytics platforms (GA4, Search Console, Hotjar) • Strong Excel/Google Sheets fundamentals • Able to think critically and contribute ideas to solve problems • Interest in digital trends, including AI-powered marketing tools • Reliable and consistent follow-through • Ability to simplify complex data into understandable takeaways • Enjoys working independently but thrives as part of a purpose-driven, fast-paced team

The role is 100% remote and would be working directly with founders Tirsa Parrish and Marge Pietrera and/or the executive editor.

Please send a Cover Letter, Resume, and Unofficial Transcript to Press@FashionIndex.com. Please include your phone number and full mailing address in your application. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
